An unforgettable volunteer job
Last weekend, I went to City’s Nursing Home and volunteered to help to take care of the old with my classmates.
We brought some beautiful flowers and fruits for our seniors. Meanwhile, some were doing housework and chores to have a clean and comfortable environment to live in. And for those who were good at communicating, they were chatting with the old to share some good stories. On the contrary, the old people told us their life experience to let us have a better understanding of our history. And the others were singing and dancing with the old people.
We had a wonderful day there even though we all felt very tired and exhausted. But we should pay more attention to and take good care of the elderly people to show our great respect for them.

Being a Volunteer is Great
My parents always tell me that it’s better to give than to receive. I couldn’t understand it until I took part in a volunteer activity last month.
Our head teacher took us to an old people’s home. We saw a lot of old people old people there who either had no kids or were abandoned by their kids. They led a hard life without company. We brought flowers and gifts to them. Some of us sang songs, some danced to the music, others helped them do some chores. I talked to a seventy- year- old man. He was eager to tell me everything about his life. And through his story, I had a better understanding of how things used to be in the past. Only then did I realize that old people not only needed care but also wanted to be listened. I had a strong feeling of satisfaction when I saw the look of joy on the old people’s faces.
Being a volunteer is of great value for both others and ourselves.
